About

Pits4PEACE is an organization dedicated to helping pit bulls and pit mixes in the United States by educating the community about the true nature of pits: kind, loyal house pets, not fighting dogs.

Our mission is to ensure that pit bulls are known by their good, loyal family reputation–and that includes pit mixes, Staffordshire Terriers, and Bull Terriers as well as American Pit Bull Terriers!
We are a small, Northern-California based organization. We are not a rescue organization, but rather an advocacy organization.

What We Do

Pits4PEACE educates the community through posters, flyers, brochures, events and online programs. We try to educate our community about the true nature of pit bulls.

Our Mission…

… is to ensure that pit bulls are known by their good, loyal family reputation–and that includes pit mixes, Staffordshire Terriers, and Bull Terriers as well as American Pit Bull Terriers!

In many rural parts of California, there have been a growing number of mixed breed dogs created by the mixing of working farms dogs, such as “Shepard” dogs and “guard” dogs, as well as family dogs, such as Labrador retrievers and Chihuahuas. These mixes have resulted in the creation of several mixed breed pit bulls, which are in danger of ending up in high-kill shelters.

Some of these pups find their way to the more urban areas and a lucky few get adopted as household pets.
The purpose of this group is threefold: (1) education: we need to educate people on the importance of neutering and spaying of all dogs; (2) advocacy: we advocate for the adoption of these mixed breed pit mixes into loving family homes; and (3) organize: we organize campaigns in your neighborhood to raise awareness and understanding of these unfortunate dogs and build realization that they are as good a pet as any purebred dog.

We’re Dedicated To…

… helping pit bulls and pit mixes in the United States by educating the community about the true nature of pits: kind, loyal house pets, not fighting dogs.
